About this place
A few obanzai dishes to start, followed by noodles to finish: curry udon is a tempting choice at Kimiya. One visitor particularly recommended ordering it. The menu also includes kake udon and Chinese-style soba, with the latter described as a house speciality for its broth. There is plenty to consider when deciding how to round off a meal.
To begin, choose from the obanzai dishes displayed along the counter. One visitor said they went back for more parsley namul and also tried half a portion of the house-special chijimi, or Korean-style savoury pancake. Another diner noted that most of the counter's obanzai dishes can be ordered in half portions.
For an evening of sampling small plates, options include dashimaki tamago, a rolled omelette seasoned with dashi, nira tamago with garlic chives and egg, and stir-fried bean sprouts. For something more substantial, there is fried rice, oyakodon (chicken-and-egg rice bowl) and omurice. The range extends beyond an obanzai izakaya's usual small dishes, with noodles, rice bowls and Western-style favourites to suit different appetites.
The restaurant has a counter arranged in a U shape and is described as suitable for solo diners. Beer and other alcoholic drinks are available alongside the small plates, and there is also an adjoining bar. You can make an evening of several dishes and drinks, or settle in for a full meal.
